2010 Featured Events

Debuting September 30 to October 3, we present this fall’s FLICKERS North Country Film Festival at The BALSAMS.

Imagine: 59 films to be screened; 11 US Premieres; 35 short films; 6 Feature Narrative Films; 18 Documentaries; 21 Countries represented: Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, New Zealand, Pakistan, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, USA, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom!

The festival will also feature a world premier of the “Indian Stream Schoolhouse,” co-produced by Pittsburg, NH resident Roy Amey.

There will be various film tracks with up to five films being projected at one time in a number of BALSAMS venues, including the Switzerland of America Ballroom and the world famous Ballot Room; and a variety of themes, from comedy, drama, fantasy and romance, to North Country and Franco-American culture.

Hollywood screenwriter Chris Sparling will deliver a keynote address, and Marlyn Mason, Sandra Boynton and other celebrities will be on hand for book signing and to mingle with guests.

Note: this Saturday soirée is not included in the lodging packages, below, but guests who want to attend the dinner will receive a $50 credit if they are on the Full American Plan. Please make reservations for this Soiree far in advance of arrival!
